The Enchanted

Finally finish!..this was the hardest piece that i made so far, hwew.. This is my entry for Visual Arts Contest of DA Phil. with the Theme: "Your Own Version/Design of Philippine's Local Mythical Creature" there are tons of idea that came into my mind,and I ended up choosing this two Phil. Myth Creature the male one is an aswang and the female is a diwata.

Aswang
An Aswang (or Asuwang) is a mythical creature in Philippine folklore. The aswang is an inherently evil vampire-like creature and is the subject of a wide variety of myths and stories. in CamSur a province in Phil.were Im in, we have two classification of aswang the flying aswang or the "kikik" and the walking aswang or the "asbo".
From spanish era up to this time aswang i think is the most feared myth. creature,since there are countless of stories related to it telling the this creature really exist.

Diwata

Diwata (origin Sanskrit Devata), also known as Encantada, is a mythological figure similar to fairies or nymphs. They are nature spirits and live one with mother earth. They were benevolent or neutral and could be called upon ritually for positive crop growth, health, and fortune; however, they also caused illness or misfortune if not given proper respect.
